The 2013 LULAC Florida Convention was a success.
Official convention activities were initiated Saturday, May 25 at 9:00 am and ended Sunday May 26 at 1:00 pm.
My appreciation goes to all of those that helped in positive ways to maintain the name of LULAC high. The display of support and team work was amazing. The committed convention committee worked very hard. LULAC National Executive Director Brent Wilkes and Florida State Representative Luis Torres contributed to the success we had.
I want to thank all who showed their support to LULAC. Special thanks to Board members, including Jose Fernandez who said “PRESENTE”. Thank you Aidita Fernandez for coming to provide your invaluable support to LULAC Florida on behalf on LULAC National. Aidita, you did a splendid job.
Delegates to the convention came from around the state.
Fifteen Councils (15) from our the State of Florida were in attendance at the General Assembly.
The Board was voted by acclamation, as follows:
STATE DIRECTOR, LYDIA MEDRANO
DEPUTY DIRECTOR, AL FREDERICK
TREASURER, RAMON MARTINEZ
DEPUTY FOR YOUTH, JAQUELINE LIZARDI
DEPUTY FOR YOUNG ADULTS, CHRISTOPHER CANO
DEPUTY FOR WOMEN, NORMA CAMERO-RENO

The Board met immediately after the General Assembly to start the work for the coming year. Appointments will be forthcoming.
I want to take the time to recognize Dr. Rosa Castro-Feinberg, our Rosie, for her professionalism and dedication in mediating state-wide communications.
Un abrazo compañeros.
